INTRODUCTION BY DR. KARR

Hi, I am Dr. Karr and I would like to welcome you to our Acne-Statin family. On this, our OFFICIAL website, you will find a simple explanation of what acne is and how to best use the Acne-Statin Kit or Acne-Statin Kit and System as your regular, simple skin care routine, for the treatment, care and control of acne without adverse side effects. I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little about my scientific background, medical training and experience in treating patients.

Prior to entering medical school, I was a scientist and first majored in general physiology and biochemistry. Physiology is the study of body functions, while biochemistry deals with the chemical reactions and interactions within the body. After getting my Master of Science degree, many of my questions were still unanswered so I went to University of Pennsylvania graduate school to work on a Ph.D. in cellular physiology and biochemistry. Cellular physiology deals with the functions of the individual cell – its nucleus, its protoplasm and the membrane surrounding the cell. The body is built out of single cells. Different cells form tissues with different functions that collectively form an organ. Different organs like the liver, glands, kidneys, brain, spleen, skin, etc. have different functions.

I studied the single cells of various organs under a microscope. First, I experimented with cells under normal conditions and then under abnormal conditions, i.e., when exposed to certain diseases and various chemicals. While at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, I also did cancer research for five years, working on single cells gone “haywire.” In the biochemistry of the single cell, I learned how different chemicals alter the cells, help their growth, or were harmful to their survival.

What did I learn and why am I telling you all this, you may ask? It is important for you to know that a cell is very selective in what it allows to pass through its membrane. I would like you to know a few facts:

  1. When you apply a solution, cream, or lotion to the skin surface, not all the ingredients listed on the label are necessarily absorbed by the skin or pass through the cell membrane and enter the cell.
  2. The greater the number of ingredients listed on the label of a product, the greater the possibility for allergic reactions to occur.
  3. The higher the concentration of active ingredients in a product, the greater the chance of damage to the cell. In other words, more is not always better.

My philosophy is: Be kind and gentle to your skin. Help preserve its natural structure, its texture and the secretions nature provided you with. Most importantly, do not be abusive to your skin, and by all means do not strip your skin of its natural protection capabilities if you want to preserve its resiliency and normal health functions.

After graduate school, I entered medical school to become a physician so I could help people who were sick and help prevent people from getting sick whenever possible. That’s why I initially chose to practice preventative medicine in general and later made preventative acne my specialty, as I realized that acne is not just “skin deep,” and its vicissitudes far exceeded the skin boundaries.

During the past 25 years, I have used my knowledge and experience in general physiology, cellular physiology, andbiochemistry as well as my medical knowledge and experience in treating patients to help people with acne. I suffer from acne, as do my children, since acne is hereditary. I also have very sensitive skin and sensitive eyes that tear from the vapors of some skin products.

I could not tolerate the side effects of most acne medications and could not find anything to relieve my acne problem and still leave my skin soft, moist, non- scaling and supple. In addition, one of my children had eczema. I had no choice but to develop a product that would not irritate his skin. So I used my face as a guinea pig

It’s been said that necessity is the mother of invention and it was in my case. I did a great deal of research and chose pure and non-irritating ingredients of high quality – each FDA approved for over-the-counter products. I developed a gentle hypoallergenic lotion that not only cleared my acne, but also helped alleviate my son’s discomfort from eczema, enabling him to continue his studies at school and to eventually attend Yale Medical School to become a physician himself. As for myself, not having to worry about my skin freed me to attend to the care of my patients. The hypoallergenic lotion that I developed became the basis for the Acne-Statin Kit and System and my life’s work and contribution to acne sufferer’s everywhere.

In my medical practice, I have repeatedly seen the emotional anguish of children and adults with acne, and its impact on their entire lives. The despair is particularly strong in those who have been told, “You will just have to live with it.” The pain is also evident in those who are told, “You will outgrow it,” because while waiting to “outgrow” their acne, they still suffer embarrassment that leaves emotional scars that sometimes far outlast the physical ones

Our body functions as a whole - the physical problems effect the emotional and vice versa. In my opinion, therefore, prevention is the key, especially in families with a history of acne breakouts.

Preventative measures ought to start at the onset of puberty, so that children and teenagers won’t have to suffer embarrassment while waiting to outgrow their acne. Prevention of acne should begin by using products that help control acne but do not cause adverse side effects or restrict a child’s freedom to play outdoors in the sun (like the prescription medication Retin-A does). On the other hand, Acne-Statin Kit does not have side effects, nor does it cause sun sensitivity. You could say it’s the ideal product for the treatment, care and control of acne and therefore, I recommend it.

Acne-Statin Kit clears up acne blemishes without adverse side effects. It allows the skin to heal and helps prevent whiteheads, blackheads, and pimples from forming. It ought to be used by adolescents and teenagers to help them grow up with a positive attitude toward life, to help them develop high self-esteem, and assist them in becoming happy, healthy, and constructive adults.

Sincerely,
Atida H. Karr, MD
